CHECK BACK MONTHLY TO SEE WHAT DOUG HAS ADDED
Herring Herring Peacock Wooly Bugger |
Doug lives in Missouri, by the Lake of the Ozarks, and while a relative new comer the sport, his enthusiasm, and diligence have afforded him the opportunities of a lifetime. One of his first fish on a fly was a 28lb 2oz Brown trout out of Arkansas' White River. He has attended a number of Federation of Fly Fisher's Conclaves in different locations of the US and was invited to tie starting with the Southern Conclave in Mountain Home, Arkansas, a very difficult show to get a invitation to. Doug has never been afraid to try new materials and techniques in his tying, and does not mind sharing his experience with other fly fishers. This has lead to fly fishing opportunities in some of the most unlikely places, and allowed him share ideas with fellow anglers on a international basis. Doug has recently returned from the Fly Fair in Chatsworth, which he was able to combine with club tying sessions in Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. He has been published a number of times in the Fly Fisher, as well as Warm Water Fly Fishing and the 1999 Patterns of the Masters. When he is not fishing for trout, salmon, or steelhead, he pursues catfish and bass on a fly. Doug would be happy to share his information on Fort Shockley workstations and fly fishing opportunities in Misourri along with techniques for fly tying. email Doug at lanolak@lakeozark.net |
